Ann Christensen is President and Founder of Idaho Search & Rescue Dogs, Inc. and is currently Training Officer for the organization. Ann has been active training and handling search dogs since 1994 and she and her dogs have responded on numerous incidents and are credited with a number of live finds and body recoveries. Ann and her K-9s have worked with numerous local and federal law enforcement agencies including the National Park Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. They have worked missions all over Idaho and in Wyoming, Montana, Washington, Texas, and West Virginia. 

Ann and her K-9s have received recognition for their work from a number of agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Law Enforcement Training Specialists, and also from the AKC Award For Canine Excellence Program. Ann and Ranger were featured on Wild Survival on the Outdoor Channel for their work in locating a missing hunter and have also been in newspapers, on television, and on radio locally and across the country.
Ann is currently working her fourth K-9, Kessa, in cadaver recovery, tracking, and first responder disaster and her fifth K-9, Rocco, in cadaver, cadaster, and tracking. Ann is the Canine Committee Chair for the National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR) which is the largest civilian search and rescue organization in the United States. Ann is also an Associate Member of and SAR Liason for the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA) and she and "Kessa" and "Rocco" are certified K-9 teams with NAPWDA and with Idaho Search & Rescue Dogs, Inc. They are also members of the California based 1st Special Response Group. 
Ann holds an Associate Degree from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. She has been a canine instructor for almost two decades and currently owns and operates High Country Shepherds in Shelley, Idaho. In addition to her work in search and rescue, Ann teaches numerous canine and SAR classes and has also trained dogs to work in narcotics detection .
